16 days of Activism Against GBV
Annually from November 25th to December 10th, activists, leaders and engaged citizens work to raise awareness around gender-based violence and support the mission of protecting the health and rights of women and girls.
Say No To Gender Based Violence!
Globally, as many as 38% of murders of women are committed by an intimate partner.
200 million women have experienced female genital mutilation/cutting. This issue is not only devastating for survivors of violence and their families, but also entails significant social and economic costs. In some countries, violence against women is estimated to cost countries up to 3.7% of their GDP – more than double what most governments spend on education.
World Mental Health Day -10th October
The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
World Breast Feeding Week (1st-7th August)
Breastfeeding plays an important role in managing the double burden of malnutrition, provides food security and reduces inequalities.

Some of Our Successful Programs
With the support of our partners and the donor community this is a list of some of the programs both ongoing and completed.
Primary Healthcare
Working in collaboration with Ministries of Public Health and Medical Services to strengthen capacity and set up Laboratory services at Fafi Dispensary. Established a community based health facility in Sihay Division, East Ugenya, Siaya County. The health facility at Sihay is seeking to expand services and coverage with support from interested partners
Medical Outreaches
We have conducted intervention for Medical assistance, and provision of food and non food items to internally displaced persons in Naivasha District in 2009 and Nyandarua District in 2010. The project reached flood victims of Budalangi in 2009. In the year 2011 the project under the response to drought crisis and refugee influx reached refugees and host communities in Dadaab and Fafi Districts. In the year 2012-2013, we are conducting at least two integrated medical outreaches within Fafi District, with referral to nearby health facilities for follow ups. The outreaches intensified on immunization coverage for children under five years with the aim of reducing childhood diseases.
Empowerment & Development Program
Young Women/Mothers Project: Started as a self help group, its mission was to bring together mothers to be able to improve savings amongst themselves to promote self financial sustainability. The group has a membership of 20 young mothers aged between 18 to 26 years. The members have been able to intensively go through a simple book keeping and business management training. With this training, the young mothers have been able to venture into various businesses with a large group opting for self employment. We have initiated a tailoring and craft project in Nairobi to give skill and self employment opportunity for the young women and girls. The mothers have also been taken through sexual reproductive health talks, nutrition talks, leadership and entrepreneurship skills. Through such fora, the women get an opportunity to interact with experts and acquire knowledge that they apply in their day to day activities. Information acquired is also used to educate others as they relate in the community.
