SCHOOL HEALTH PROGRAM

In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health, HESED is committed to promoting the overall well-being of Kenyan students through comprehensive school health programs. We believe that a healthy student body is essential for academic success, personal growth, and the development of a vibrant society.

We conduct weekly educational sessions in primary schools across Kasarani and Eastleigh Sub Counties, targeting students from grades 5 to 8. Our sessions are aligned with the comprehensive school manual developed by the government and partners, ensuring that we deliver high-quality and relevant content.

The topics in the school health manual include the following:

  • Value and Skills
  • Gender Issues
  • Water Sanitation and Hygiene
  • Child Rights
  • Special Needs and Infrastructure
  • Mental Health
  • Disease Control and Prevention
  • Nutrition
  • Cross Cutting Issues

Our commitment to supporting school-going children extends beyond holding educative session. We provide hygiene kits which are thoughtfully designed to equip children with the essential tools they need to maintain good personal hygiene. Each kit includes:

  • Pads
  • Underwear
  • Lotion
